Since many have been asking, Im fine. A life experience nonetheless. I was indeed at MWFF2014 in the Hyatt Regency OHare during the Chemical Incident involving a Chlorine Gas/Powder mixture being released. My room was on the tenth floor, the spill was in the 9th Floor Stairwell. I was lucky enough to be barely off the 10th Floor once it occurred. With information from various news sources I know it happened between Midnight and 12:30am. At the time I was in my room changing into my Fursuit to head down to the Rave. Once in suit I took the elevator down to the Lobby and noticed 2 Ambulances outside. I just figured welp someone got too drunk again and continued walking. I was in the hall heading to the dance communicating with a few people when all of a sudden heard the fire alarm going off. From there I just posted and tweeted my experience from the outside while watching multiple people being loaded into ambulances. Surprisingly I didnt even put pieces to the puzzle together until now realizing how close I actually was, had I stayed in my room. I do believe the deadliness of the incident was blown a bit out of proportions, but it how could news sources not cover a chemical threat to gigantic people in animal costumes. -------------------------- Aside from the Chlorine on Saturday, I became quite ill on Monday morning after eating some Deep Dish Chicago style pizza Sunday at 1am. I ended up with Food Poisoning and didnt even know how I was going to drive home on Monday. Thankfully we had a late checkout so I spent most of my time in my room from when I woke up at 9am till 3pm tossing / turning and making the bathroom my new den. Eventually I had to leave despite almost renting the room for an extra night just to sleep. The pain of the drive was intense, drank Pepto Bismal like it was a fruit drink and stopped at rest stops almost every 70 miles to destroy lifes porcelain throwns. Two hours out from Buffalo I needed to stop and rent a Hotel (first time in the history of driving) cause my Stomach, Fever and Bowls were making it impossible to continue. Made it home around Noon today and have been sleeping / drinking plenty of fluids. Its still affecting me quite a bit, but its a lot less painful than before. Despite how much pain / sick I was in. I constantly joked when someone stated, Do you have the shits?! To whom which I replied, No much worse than the shits or the sprints, Ive got the Kenyans! Which then everytime I went to the bathroom I played Totos Africa. ============================ Ill probably talk more about everything on Saturdays Show, a lot easier to speak than it is to type everything.
