Since the Lamido of Adamawa spoke, who has been bold to even mention, at the conference possible break-up of Nigeria? The cowards have mellowed or even disappeared. Has the Lamido of Adamawa not therefore been vindicated? What was new or unprecedented in the Lamido’s position? If the same threat or bluff had been issued by a southern delegate at the conference, how many Southerners would have pounced on the southerner? In short, the Lamido was criticized only because he is a northerner. And that is the major problem in this country.
