Slim Part 4 - ALERT***Contains Graphic Pictures. After Dr. Southerland diagnosed glaucoma in Slims left eye, she consulted with our Ophthalmologist. He recommended medicine to decrease the pressure in the eye. After a period of time, it was clear it wasnt working. Something more drastic needed to be done. A veterinary ophthalmologist can offer several options and in Slims case, the decision was made to remove the eye. In the OR, you are looking at Dr. David Helcel as he removes the globe. As you can see in the last 2 pics, Slim did fine and feels much better without that painful eye. Dogs do just fine with one eye. We are glad that we were able to help Slim. He was an awesome little patient!!
