Smithville may just be missed by the predicted rain. A really really significant part of my life is concerned with practicing what you preach. Sure we all have our beliefs; no two people will agree on absolutely everything, but once youve stated your belief then comes the challenge of living up to it. The preacher is the one who has stood in front of the congregation and told everyone else what he believes is right in the eyes of God. The congregation is the people who heard it and now sees if the preacher is living what he preached. Believe me, its always on my mind; sometimes its scary! Its like the farmer who has exposed all that he knows and does by planting his crops along country roads and highways for the entire world to see as they pass by; if the crop looks good or bad reflects on the farmer. Did he use the right seed? Did he plant it when the ground was just right? Did he use the right fertilizer and the right weed control? I dont believe any farmer I know wants his crops to look bad. So, do we really practice what we preach? I do believe that if God laid it upon my heart to preach it, then He surely has provided a way for me to live it! There is nothing to lose and everything to gain if we follow our heart; after all, isnt that where Jesus dwells? Living for Jesus a life that is true, striving to please Him in all that I do; yielding allegiance, glad-hearted and free, this is the pathway of blessing for me. O Jesus, Lord and Savior, I give myself to Thee, for Thou, in Thy atonement didst give Thyself for me; I own no other Master, my heart shall be Thy throne. My life I give, henceforth to live, O Christ, for Thee a lone. Friends, enjoy the day, and if youre in the area, enjoy the fair. The church tent features the Willow Creek Church Praise Band at 6 p.m.
