Snow Goose (left) foraging with Canada Goose in pasture near the Biltmore Avenue cow pond in the SouthWood Community, Tallahassee, Florida. Snow geese are uncommon winter visitors to North Florida. They breed in Arctic regions of North America and extreme eastern Siberia. In the West, they winter on Pacific Coast from southern British Columbia south to Baja California; also on the mid-Atlantic Coast and Gulf Coast from Mississippi to Texas. As their population has increased over the past several years, their wintering range has expanded to include Florida.
