So Allie Davidge, Brendan Costello, Jeremy Thornton, Rachel - TopicsExpress

So Allie Davidge, Brendan Costello, Jeremy Thornton, Rachel Atkinson , Bob Barrett , and everyone else. DAY 4 – couldn’t wait for this eve and as I’m doing a piece of work at the moment which is frustrating, I thought I’d break off and do this. So yesterday was 1988 having just missed out most of the 80s. Today is 1989! At this time I’m kind of getting a bit tired of what music is available. I think the band I was in “Under The Glass” had, not so much split up, as fallen into a drug stupor and become permanently inactive. May have still been drifting along a bit. I’d worn out all my Cure Albums and grown a bit tired of The The. Had started getting in to Tom Waits (something extracurricular from him later maybe). There was something happening in Manchester but by and large I was basically a bit musically jaded. People had told me about the Pixies – American band – probably just more lazy formulaic Indie scene stuff I thought. Then I saw them at Glastonbury – it was around the time of Doolittle. And although the phrase is overused – I was blown away! It was, I must add quite a trippy Glasto that year. Jeremy Thornton still claims he never recovered from this weekend. But the Pixies completely reinvigorated my love for music. This was like everything I had loved but with a refreshing twist. Which song? Well hard to choose anything from Doolittle because it is such a perfect album I can’t distinguish (it was one of those albums that once I put it n I had to hear all of it). This is from Come On Pilgrim – something bouncy – The Holiday Song – aural nectar! So sit right down my wicked son and let me tell you a story..https://youtube/watch?v=Ir4iDEmSrg8.
