The former PM, now a backbench MP in the opposition is making promises to anyone that will listen. As his claims fit the agenda, the BBC are more than happy to give the politically impotent nobody a microphone. This man has absolutely no power or authority but hey as long as he is reading from the script who cares eh? -More powers for Scotland guaranteed. -NHS not to be privatized guaranteed. Strange then that those who are actually in power at present cant put this in a legally binding document prior to the vote. In fact what is interesting is Conservative and Labour MPs down South are saying quite the contrary to Brown. With the highest percentage of the southern electorate viewing Scotland as some kind of subsidized rogue state. There are calls for retribution for Scotland’s insolence, how dare Scotland make demands of the Union. With next years general election far from a done deal both of the main parties will be looking to shore up marginal seats in the densely populated south. Now I wonder if campaigning with a manifesto of DEVO MAX for Scotland is likely to get either elected?? Lets get real here. Following a no vote both parties are out to asset strip Scotland and return powers to Westminster. Further I guarantee whichever party advocates the most severe cuts for Scotland will go on to win that election. Its called, appeasing the critical vote. If you haven’t figured it out yet that’s not us. If we were thought of in any meaningful way DEVO MAX would have been on the ballot paper. It wasn’t, and even now there hasn’t been 1 legally binding promise of anything. What is Scotland worthy of?
