So I am writing this tonight and sharing it because it absolutely scared me to my core..and I am hoping that maybe..JUST MAYBE it might help someone else out..I am coming off the exit ramp off Route 90 tonight heading home from visiting my family today and I am merging on to 57 South in Elyria, right before the Turnpike..And I realize that I am going 50 miles an hour into the direct path of a wrong way driver. He was driving Northbound on the Southbound lane going just as fast as I was...Without using my brain I swerve my car into the gravel along the guardrail and then lean on my horn...I grab my phone and instantly dial 911, looking over my shoulder to see that he has not slowed down, stopped or made any attempt to jump the concrete barricade with his minivan..I had no license plate..couldnt even tell the color of the car it happened so fast..When the operator asked me for details I told her I was too busy trying not to die, but I could give her the exact locaion..My first thought was PLEASE DO NOT HIT ANYONE..a family..a mom with kids in the car...I was sick to my stomach and crying and shaking..I have never had such a close near death experience in a car in my entire life..EVER. Please do not drink and drive..PAY ATTENTION to other people at all times..I thought thank God Pierce wasnt in the car with me..and I cried the whole way home thinking about what could have been...Im sitting here at my computer typing this..Im not being life flighted to Metro..No one is telling my son that mommy was in a horrible accident...No one had to call my parents and break any news...God was looking out for me..I had a Guardian Angel..Less then 3 seconds and my life very very legitimately could have ended today.. PLEASE with all that I have..Think before you text and drive..drink and drive..who knows what the persons circumstances were tonight..I have no idea..All I do know is that I am absolutely shaken to my core..That changed me tonight with driving..I always drive defensively and I cant believe how bad some drivers are..Watch yourselves..Your life can change in the blink of an eye..
