So I arrive in the ministry of interior with my wife and 5 kids at 8am in the morning. I am still filling in forms as I some how overlooked the fact that I needed 7 forms. I get to the lady. She is not happy. I have never recieved such an unorganised application. I cant work like this. Go to the waiting room you have 5 minutes to organise the application, flll in the forms. ORGANISE the application! So I am sitting desperately trying to fill forms. I return. I have the birth certifcates, the marriage license, the bank forms, the passports, the passport photos, the house contract, the 7 forms, I am ready to rock and roll. Is there a reason you did not finish this form? Is there some difference between the application why you didnt finish it? I cant work like this. I look down on the form, oh I left out Samuels passport number. Hmmm. Im working on it. I notice, I have two pictures of Jonah and zero of Samuel! o oh, the application is incomplete. I leave the lady and run to Mona. Where is Samuels photo? I dont know they disappeared. She replied. Hmmm this calls for drastic action. I take out 50 shekels. Samuel goes down stairs gets a picture taken and comes back I return to the official. You cant keep going and coming, I need to ask you questions. I reply I am here now. She knows but does not mention the fact that Samuels photo is missing. I tell her my vision to become an expert in Jewish. This will take at least four years. Hmmm all she has is a letter from the University covering my ten hours a week Ulpan course. She asks me Why does your letter not mention the further studies? I explain When they wrote the letter they did not know. Do they know now? They know now I cant give you a student visa without the letter mentioning the length of studies. If I give you a tourist visa, you can not change it to a student visa I give you 24 hours to get an updated letter Thank you for you patience I say. It just so happend that I was on the verge of being accepted a s a visiting graduate. They rewrote the letter and I returned the next day, today. There was a problem. There is a gap from the end of June to October when the Graduate studies begin. What are you going to do between June and October? Study Hebrew. But the letter doesnt say that. In the end she suggested she give me a student visa until June, You see what you will do! Praise Yahuah I am a student in Israel, even if it is only for three months. We go forward leat, leat!
