So, I think I found the words to describe how I felt about the first Hunger Games story. In all honesty, I didnt like it at first because I felt that no one in the story felt the need rebel against the barbaric ritual in the dystopian, post apocalyptic society. Before I go on, it didnt feel the movie was garbage, acting was good and all that good movie jazz. Now, after seeing Catching Fire and Mocking Jay part 1, I can better articulate what I feel. To me, it feels like Catching Fire is, or should have been the main story. The first book if you will. All the important parts to the entire trilogy things start there. Not saying Hunger Games shouldnt be there at all, but it legit felt like a prequel. A prequel to Catching Fire, with Mocking Jay, either 1 book, or two movies, as the finishing story. Yes, that means I feel that if they shown more back story in Catching Fire, that the story could have started there. Then, the Hunger Games could have been released later has the prequel build up. Like the LotR novels. You got the main three with all the main points, and then you got the Hobbit. Not needed for the main story, but provides all the build up. Again, not talking crap about the books or movies. Not critiquing it because the transition from the 1st Person perspective of the book, to the 3rd person perspective of the movie. Im sure if I read the books, I would feel the same. Its the general structure of the story that is making me feel this way.
