So Im taking a class on Managing Chronic Illness. Its been helpful. Todays topic was using a particular Decision Making process. When we paired up to work thru our decisions I brought up Nates classroom situation. After much discussion with the whole group, they basically told me I already knew what I needed to do. Which is the truth. Unexpectedly, I had the opportunity to make headway on that decision today. After school, Nate had a program at school on Science and Math. Super fun for my little scientist (and ME!). Even got to go into the observatory and look out the big telescope. :) But at the event I ran into the teacher whose class I want to switch Nate into. Feeling empowered from my discussion at class today (and the noted absense of Nates current teacher) I approached her and asked to speak with her when it would be convenient. She was open and welcoming and friendly. Everything Im not getting from Nates teacher! She has a lot of time next week during conferences so I go in tomorrow morning to find a time that works for both of us. :) I really felt like I need to speak to her and find out if she has the space in her class and doesnt already have her hands full of difficult kids to manage before I pursue getting Nate into her class. I feel like its the respectful thing to do.
