So Im walking down the sidewalk on Poplar Av. at lunch today and a couple guys drove by in a pickup and I saw out of the corner of my eye the one on the passenger side leaning out of the window and as they passed, he yelled -- presumably as loud as he could -- FAGGOT! right about the time I saw/felt something whizz by just over my head and slightly behind me. Other than being appreciative of his poor marksmanship, a part of me wanted to be offended at his misidentification of my demographic profile. But another, more important part of me thought, Id rather be mistaken for one of THEM than one of YOU. And I was pretty happy with that. The wisdom that comes with getting older suits me pretty well.
