So...Im washing BIG chunky bedding stuff at the local wash-a-teria (probably THE best place for people watching) and I have just run out of quarters and dollar bills for change machine. I have five dollar bills and LOTS of dimes and nickels but not ONE more actual quarter. So I boldly make a loud announcement that I have dimes & nickels if anyone can trade me a quarter. This scruffy guy comes over and hands out a quarter to me. He looks like he barely has two coins to even rub together. I start counting out dimes and nickels and he flat out refuses to take my coins in trade. Its fine, he says, please just take the quarter. Sometimes the sweetest gestures of human kindness and HELP happen without any expectation of return. I will surely pass it on another time.
