So for those of you that think travel writing is all fun and games, get this: at the Four Seasons Ko Samui last night. Ready for bed at 11pm, outside patio lights are all on, shining into the bedroom. Cannot find an indoor switch (I am naked at this point), call them and they say, Go outside to turn them off. LUCKILY, I decide to put on a robe to go outside, mostly because the bugs are vicious here. I open my French doors, slide them shut to keep out the bugs while I turn out the lights . . . and the door locks behind me. Has never done that in the 2 days I have been here. So now I am stuck outside. In my robe and bare feet. Have to walk down the road (spitting nails and swearing like a stevedore as I go) until I can flag down down a guy in a golf cart (this resort is built on a giant hill, reception is about 2 miles away up the hill, I swear). He cannot get the door open either! He has to call security to let me in. Unbelievable.
