However, other collectors want to discover. Their purchases are in first instance motivated by a believe in the artist and his concept. Acquiring art is primarily a matter of time and energy. The desire to collect may be strong, but there is uncertainty about actual works of art in the house or confusion between art as mode of expression and mere decoration. A real collector does not buy art to decorate the house. The structure of a collection and its presentation result from art itself, from its qualities and profound sense. The collector has a personal relationship with his collection and therefore no manuals about collecting exist, nor can one answer the question how to live with art.
