So many times we want the Lord to use us to a greater degree. - TopicsExpress

So many times we want the Lord to use us to a greater degree. It’s not that He doesn’t desire to qualify us for something different; it’s that sometimes He has no premise from which to make that determination. In every Biblical example, the Lord promoted those who had already demonstrated proficiency in those promotable areas. Gideon was found faithful while threshing, though fearful, and God promoted him to a mighty man of valor. Joshua was faithful serving Moses and God promoted him to be served by others. Saul was faithful over his father’s donkeys and God made him the first king of Israel. (Notwithstanding, we are still responsible for our actions no matter what we are promoted to. God may put you there but you can you STAY there?) There are Kingdom principles and lifestyle premises which determine our promotions or the absence thereof. We must be found faithful, consistent, and enduring in certain areas before we are granted permission to move to something greater. The Lord will not abandon His principles for no one. If He didn’t abandon them for Jesus as He was being crucified, surely, He won’t abandon them for you or me. It behooves us to stop and seriously consider a matter before we takes sides on a thing the Lord has done. Have we been found faithful in our place, are we charging the Lord with foolishness, or have WE missed the mark? God doesn’t make mistakes.
