So recently it has come to my attention that Warrior Pointe, Myself and others within the ranks of Warrior Pointe are in this for the wrong reasons, or that we feel we are better than everyone else. And many other things as well. I would like to take this public right now and to square this away. While yes I am honored and blessed to work with many great men and women that have joined the ranks of this organization. I have seen amazing things done by these volunteers. Warrior Pointe set out years ago to be the rally point for all of those who served or are still serving. We believe to stop veteran suicides we need just two simple things. A battle buddy & a mission. We have dedicated the time to set up the systems to make this possible. We are set up similar to military structure. We have started missions for the chapters, states and brigades. Missions like the battle recovery where we reach out to local homeless veterans, or our Boots on the Ground teams that reach out to brothers and sisters that just need to know they have a community that cares, as well as actively search out any missing warriors. This organization was and is all about helping the brothers and sisters to the right or to the left. I know i have come across as egotistical and judgmental. I am sorry that folks look at the one small piece of this amazing puzzle and judge the whole organization. The reality is this there are at 23 million veterans in our country, NOT 1 represents even half of our community. VFW approx 9 million members, American Legion is about the same. and no one even know how many hold dual memberships. Then we have a plethora of organizations all helping their select groups, and literally hundreds more starting up. This is not a bad thing, but it does harm the community as a whole when ego and pride get in the way. I have done both. I have worked countless hours for years on Warrior Pointe as well as another organization. Since this organization started 3 years ago, I have had to be everything from the founder and president to the janitor. I have had to do so many job titles even still to this day. The volunteer pool is slim and finding folks that have the intestinal fortitude to step up and help build something from the ground up has been a daunting task to say the least. This gets beyond frustration especially when i have spent hours looking for someone, to find they took their own life, or trying to help a battle that is at the end of his ropes, mean while I am dangling there myself. I am tired all the time. I am frustrated all the time, I miss my families things, like my daughters birthday, all because there is one brother or sister that needs help. I am not saying this to get pity or shit. I say this to those that I have offended in hopes that they see I am just one man that took a mission to stop the veteran suicide and we are losing everyday. It is taking a toll on me as well as ALL of the staff of warrior pointe. As some of the toughest folks our country has ever seen we have got to set all this pride, ego, attitude, damn drama and everything else to the side. This is gonna start right here with me and Warrior Pointe. Facebook is just a small way we can reach out to our fellow warfighters, I would be willing to bet that out of 23 million veterans that we would find only a small fraction actually are on this marketing tool. So effectively right here and now I am going public with this. If you are a VSO or some kind of veterans or military page and you dont support all the other ones then you need to step back and identify why you are doing what you are doing this for. I am going to say this here and now, if you want to work WITH us then message the page, the stronger the network of pages and orgs the stronger our community will be. Right now our community is broken. You can see this everywhere, the insane suicide rate, the homeless veterans, the unemployment rates and this list could go on and on. Again it starts here with me. I will be man enough to say that I have not always been approachable, but from here on, let it be clear that Myself and the staff and leadership will never have and never will put ourselves before our mission, our mission is to be the rally point of ALL warfighters. So by proxy every single one of you that served or are still serving are already members of this organization, you just have not made the step. So this is where all of you individuals, pages and organizations step up and work with us and we work with you. You do not have to give up what you do to work together. We want change? Well it starts here. The drama, ego the pride ALL Stop here. That is whats killing our community. There is much need, and it is all hands on deck. There is a mission for everyone, whether helping warrior pointe or any of the other great missions out there. We have to do this as a team, because regardless if we stop every veteran that is on social media there are more that we are not reaching that are not on social media and this cycle will continue.
