So, spent Friday morning and mid afternoon at the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peters Square, but I forgot my camera battery! Have lots of pictures on Johns cell phone though. The Basilica was closed for a special mass for the Italian police so we did not get inside. Spent Saturday walking around Rome city center as well as the neighborhood of Trastervere, across the Tiber River. Lots of shops (dont ask how much John spent!), restaurants and churches. Returned there today. Temps are in the 90s so spent the day walking, shopping, and drinking Italian spritz. Headed back to the Bend Monday. Will be good to get home. The boys swear the house is still standing and the grass has been mowed!
