So, today was the due date for our little Oliver David. We miss him. I woke up feeling a little... wistful? Not heavy with grief, but longing and wishing and sadness and hope all mixed up together in some measure with a beautiful undergirding of peace. I think I just needed a good cry and some time to reflect on how painful and beautiful it all was (and is). I spent some time re-reading the story I wrote after coming home from our writers retreat in Tuscany almost exactly six months ago and cry, I certainly did. (Felt good.) As grateful as I am for where my family and I are at in our lives, its still hard imagining what I thought life was going to look like as we entered 2015. In honor of our fourth child, Im sharing our story again today. His short life was not in vain; no ones is. And also, I just want to thank those who walked closely with me during that confusing time in Italy - Sister Max, Jenni, Amber, Tsh, Seth, Brooke, Nish, Kristin, Jamin, Kyle and of course, Ryan.
