So yesterday was interesting... Had a night cross country with a student and eventually at one of our destinations we met up with another one of our planes in the pattern with the instructor asking us if we want to get pie... Apparently the airport we were at had a 24 hr diner with great pie. Ive never been to any of these places.. In fact, my student has been more around the area than I have. So the four of us stop for pie at 1am, and we still had about an hour to our lesson, but when we were ready to go, their airplanes starter would not engage. So my lesson turned into a fuel burning flight so that we can stuff both of them into our plane putting us just over max gross weight, leaving their plane behind. Never filled a 172 that heavy before, with 4 people and still over half tanks...
