Solemnity of St. Peter and St. Paul St. Peter was a fisherman - TopicsExpress

Solemnity of St. Peter and St. Paul St. Peter was a fisherman whom Jesus called to become a ‘fisher of men’. He was the leader of Apostles and the first Pope of the Church as Jesus called him the ‘rock on which My Church will be built’. He was also given the Keys of the Kingdom of God. St. Paul is known as the ‘Apostle to the Gentiles’. He was not one of the twelve chosen by Jesus. He used to hate Christians but once, on his way to arrest them, he was struck down and heard Jesus calling him to become His follower. Since then, he travelled extensively to preach the Gospel and wrote letters which became part of the Bible. St. Peter and St. Paul are considered the great leaders of the Church. Both of them were martyred in Rome. The Solemnity Feast of St. Peter and St. Paul is celebrated on June 29. HAPPY FIESTA
