Somali MPs table a no-confidence motion against PM Abdiweli Mogadishu (HOL)— More than 140 members of Parliament decided to table a no-confidence motion on Thursday against the prime minister, Abdiwel Sheikh Ahmed, accusing him of abusing his power by appointing, firing and transferring senior civilian and security officials without proper consultations with the President. Earlier, President Mohamud accused the Prime Minister of not consulting with him before making the recent reshuffle that created the current political deadlock. The new motion will go into debate and then will proceed into voting where the legislators will be asked about their confidence on the cabinet and the premier.
