As a believer, what is the ingredient that ensures the presence of God in our lives? For the irreplaceable and sweet presence of our Lord and Savior is what gives us the strength to take the next step when we have no strength left within us to move forward...His presence is what enables us to experience peace that passes all understanding even when we cant make sense of our circumstances.....His presence is what enpowers us to rejoice in the Lord always. Sometimes I can find my thoughts captive to the what ifs and can be weighted down by a burden much too heavy to carry. I can get entagled in a web of worry and anxiety, but then I am reminded that is not where I find the presence of God. PRAISE......WORSHIP......this is what I must discipline myself to do, and with the praises of my lips comes the flooding of HIS PRESENCE. When I draw nigh to Him, He draws nigh to me. When I last posted, we were looking at Matt enduring more chemo and 39 radiation treatments. He has since completed 2 rounds of chemo and has only 9 more radiation treatments left. We have traveled back and forth to Duke on a daily basis except when he was inpatient for the chemo. This has been extremely tiring and taxing. He had scans the week of Christmas which revealed that the disease in his lungs is not responding to the chemo. After completing the last scheduled radiation treatment on January 15th, we will travel back to Charlotte on the 19th to meet with Dr. Anderson to discuss options. Though this is not the news we were wanting, we will not lose hope because our hope is placed in a God who is still on the throne. We ask that you pray for strength to continue to endure this battle as we wait on Him. He who created all that we know is able to alter the direction of this disease just as He made the sun stand still, and the moon stay in its place until Israel defeated its enemy, just as He held back the waters of the Red Sea when the Israelites saw no way of escaping the Pharoh and Egyptians. The Israelites became a trophy of His grace and mercy. Please pray that as we wait on the shore, that our Lord and Savior would provide the way of escape for Matt, so that he too may be His trophy of grace and mercy. We are so thankful for the way God continues to shower His love on us through your prayers, support, and innumerable acts of kindness. For He knows it would be impossible to face this trial without the many ways people have been and continue to be there for us. May we all join in praise to a God who is worthy and enjoy the benefit of His presence even in times of adversity. Love, from the Polands
