Some of you in the Vegas scene needs to decide what you want. Most seem to think there is a magical venue that doesnt have to worry about covering rent, just be open for the love of music, not understanding what it takes to keep a basic business open, at any age level. You want good sound but none of the show money to cover the costs of repair/upkeep or to properly run it with someone with experience. You want blanket promotion all over the city, but again, nothing from the show to cover that cost. You think there is all this money coming in that goes into one pocket when it goes to many just to cover the basic costs of the show, and when so many bands are not concerned with their own turnout, total draw suffers and guess what, theres even less money that ends up going into the one pocket that you assumed it did. More of Vegas needs to educate themselves on how a concert covers itself which is, no matter what, that every show needs people. All bands want people to hear them, and the venue wants people in there so they can stay open another day. Its really a simple formula marred by overblown expectations and assumptions and a few bad people and situtations.
