Some ramblings. thoughts, conjectures, beliefs, and experiences regarding the general topic of self-elimination..... 1) Be careful about even talking about the subject. Anything you say can and might be used against you..even sometime in the future. It may go nowhere...but it gives people the opportunity with your already complicated-enough life! 2) I truly believe that people in some cases take their own lives so that there is no possibility that they will in stead take someone(s) elses! 3) Valid attempts by troubled people to off themselves fail simply due to not knowing how to use Google! I think I recently heard about someone who strapped maybe 4 patches of nicotine to his chest, thinking that it would cause an overdose and kill him! 4) There are indeed accidental suicides; thus, there should be a subcategory of such when publishing/studying statistics! 5) In 20 years of full-time teaching, I saw between 2000 and 3000 students on a daily basis in my classrooms! 2 of them took their own lives; and, 2 of them were murdered! 6) Tonight I learned that middle-aged white males are the top category of suicide-risks! 7) I have asked several people in my life over the years their views about the topic. The ones that come to mind: a) If you have even one living child, you should be ostracized in death for taking at least one more life in the process! b) Suicide is an unforgivable sin! c) Gods love is so great that even taking your own life will not separate you from Him in the ever-after!! d) You live MANY lives; if, during any one of them, you take your own life, you will be extremely set back in your journeys. e) Suicide is a cowards way out (no clarifications of out of what!). 8) Beliefs (religious, atheist, or any other category) will either allow one to kill oneself if desired, or it will prohibit him or her from doing likewise! 9) People actually do kill themselves with the intention of hurting others; and, they do! But generally it is not the object of their dysfunction...all too often that person could care less! 10) If you put some thought into it, you CAN find insurance policies that will pay benefits to your loved-ones...provided that you wait a designated amount of time before you meet a premature demise!
