Somehow the skies dont seem so blue As they used to be; Blossoms - TopicsExpress

Somehow the skies dont seem so blue As they used to be; Blossoms have a fainter hue, Grass less green I see. Theres no twinkle in a star, Dawns dont seem so gold . . . Yet, of course, I know they are: Guess Im growing old. Somehow sunshine seems less bright, Birds less gladly sing; Moons dont thrill me with delight, Theres no kick in Spring. Hills are steeper now and Im Sensitive to cold; Lines are not so keen to rhyme . . . Gosh! Im growing old. Yet in spite of failing things Ive no cause to grieve; Age with all its ailing brings Blessings, I believe: Kindo gentles up the mind As the hope we hold That with loving we will find Friendliness in human kind, Grace in growing old. You were so wise and seemed to always have the answers to any question I might ask You were so strong I could only hope to be half as strong as you You were the best teacher I could ever ask for Always telling me stories of the old times Cowboys and Indians Fishing and hunting And what it was like growing up in a time of war Traveling the seas on an aircraft carrier during WW2 Telling me about motorcycles and all the accidents you endured The bones you had broken The friends you had made The beautiful girl you met and married And everything in between. Words actually cant explain how much you taught me And the certainly cant explain how much I will miss you forever! Grandpa
