Someone called me last night. CLAIMING to be Microsoft, and that they were getting a message from my computer saying there was an error, and I was infected with Malware. I told him I already have a full security suite, that Im NOT infected and I have a great firewall. He disagreed, at which point, I asked him what version of windows I had. He said it didnt matter. I told him if he had access to the error, he should know what kind of error it was from the Malware as different versions of Windows are effected in different ways. He didnt specify WHAT the error said exactly. I told him this call was bullshit and not to EVER call me again. IF SOMEONE CALLS YOU CLAIMING TO BE MICROSOFT, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! INSTALL a REPUTABLE FIREWALL. INSTALL a REPUTABLE version of VIRUS SCANNING/REMOVAL software and INSTALL a Malware/adware scanner. HANG UP on them. If you can, write down the number and call your local number for Microsoft and inform them of the call!
