Sometimes.... there is nothing like a good old kitschy movie to start the day. No one does it better than Steven Seagal in Fire Down Below. Shot on location in Kentucky, it flopped at the box office, receiving a harsh 11% rating by the critics, on the website Rotten Tomatoes. It also garnered four Razzie award nominations. Although not a popular position for most, I happen to like Mr. Seagal, but what makes this movie for me is the inclusion of several country music stars, most NOTABLY, in my humble opinion.... Marty Stuart and Travis Tritt, along with Kris Kristofferson, Mark Collie, Randy Travis, and the unforgettable Levon Helm, who was NOT a country phenom. HEY... I NEVER said I did NOT like country music. I just DETEST todays crossover brand of cookie cutter Country. In the 80s I do admit that Marty Stuart was my MAD celebrity crush and it wasnt any secret then, so now all of fB knows. I mean, whats NOT to like? Big hair, hillbilly rock, the collection of jeweled jackets, the Johnny Cash connection, his childhood spent on the road with Earl Scruggs and Lester Flatt, freakin AMAZING tall boots and that FACE..... plus his love of the history of the music and his great talent.... mmmmhmmmmm.....My *fascination* with him and the music has never faded. This is just one of my faves from *back in the day* .....and THAT is my dirty little secret for this month! ;)
