Sonrise-I am convinced that many people, even many Christians, do not realize how insulting it is for them to cuss. For many, cussing becomes second nature. They have heard it all their lives and it has become a part of their speech pattern. Anytime, you use God’s name thoughtlessly, you are using His name in vain which the Bible warns about. The people of God in the Old Testament so revered God’s name, they would not speak His formal name- Yahweh. When you tell someone to go to “hell” you are exercising a judgment that belongs only to God. He is the one who decides who goes to hell or heaven. When you reflect on a person’s heritage by calling that person an SOB, or a B, you are degrading God’s highest creation-a human being, an insult to God’s workmanship. When you “damn” something, you are assuming the right to pass eternal judgment on something or someone. Again, you are taking the authority that belongs to God. I don’t have time today to talk some of the others words that show a lack of intelligent that people use as cuss works. Think before you speak; even think before you think some words.
