Sorry Prabhu Saab, we Indians dont deserve Bullet Train at all, where time factor has no value in our country. Japan, South Korea,China and European countries like France, Germany, etc. where the bullet trains essentially used by the daily commuters who take it for going to their place of employment and then back home and not just by the holiday makers, etc. Above all, their cultre, business @ employment culture, the dscipline, manners and etiuqittes of the passangers are totally different. Compeared with them, India is a chaotic country, thanks to our messy culture ! To make bullet train or trains in India, existing tracks cant be used at all and to lay the new tracks would be a Herculean task as it would be involve huge land acquisition process which will take minimum ten years. (What hapened in case of Navi Mumbais International Airport, is fresh within our knowledge. ) Our Indian Railways are beset with complete lack of punctuality when it comes to timing, breakdowns, craks on the rail track, signals system failure, garbage, litter, spitting on the plotforms, etc. Suffice to say, we ONLY DESERVE the existing rail net working which only needs to be improved as much as possible by bringing an accountablity in the railway staff and making our passengers more responsibel and disciplined. Moreover, Bullet Train project would be more costlier than a white elephant and hence it would not be cost effective at all. What happened to Mono Rail project in Eastern part of Mumbai is the latest example of ill conceived project.
