Sortilege: the Accumulation Spelldraft Tournament When: October 11, 2014, Registration begins at 11 AM; Drafting begins at 11:30. Matchups will be posted at Noon. Where: Grand Adventures Comics and Games, 803 North Thompson Lane, Suite 102A, Murfreesboro, TN 37129, (615) 867-0838 Entry Fee: $10 / Pre-registration is available in-person at the store or via phone. Pre-registration is STRONGLY recommended because entries are capped at 16 participants. Pre-registration fees are non-refundable and cannot be applied to other purchases. Tournament Rules: Please reference the Steamroller document (privateerpress/organized-play/steamroller-tournaments) for full rules and scenarios. In addition, please read the Spelldraft rules below. SPECIAL RULES All games of Spelldraft are played using baseline Steamroller 2014 rules, with the following exceptions. • All players bring a single 35-point army list. • All games are played using the Outflank scenario. • All spells listed on a warcaster’s or warlock’s spell card and all animi on warbeasts are considered “erased” for this format. You can use only the spells and animi that you draft in this event (see below). • DRAFTING: Before the tournament begins, players are divided into groups of up to eight players. Every player is given a deck of eight cards, each of which lists one spell or animus. When the EO announces that it is time to begin drafting, take one card from your deck and add it to your spell pool. Once all players have chosen a spell, players simultaneously pass their decks to the player on their left. Then take the deck from the player on your right and repeat the process until your spell pool contains exactly eight cards. • Spell cards you draft become part of your warcaster’s or warlock’s spell list for the duration of the tournament. • Animus cards you draft can either become part of your warcaster’s or warlock’s spell list or be assigned to a warbeast as an animus. If you assign a card as an animus, all warbeasts in your army that share the same name gain this animus. Example: Joey has five shredders in his army list. He drafts the animus card Rush. Joey can choose to give his warcaster Rush as a spell or assign Rush to one of his warbeasts as an animus. Joey assigns Rush to a shredder, so all five shredders now have Rush. • If an effect would reduce the COST of a spell below 1, it reduces it to 1 instead. • Cards labeled as spells can be used only as spells; they cannot be assigned as animi. • Once all players have drafted their spell list and assigned any animi, note on your player record sheet the spell resources you have and how you allocated any animi. • Pairings for the tournament are drawn from all players in all the drafting groups. SPELL DRAFT ERRATA Replace the text of the The Witch Coven of Garghasts Perfect Conjunction ability with the following: A Perfect Conjunction is established anytime the Egregore is completely within the triangular area between all three Witches and each Witch has LOS to each other Witch. During a Perfect Conjunction, reduce the COST of the first spell each Witch casts during her activation by 1. Army Lists: Players can bring a single 35-point list for this event. Please bring a copy of the rules for any Theme Force that you intend to play for your opponents reference. Models do not have to be painted, but they must be fully assembled. No proxies of any kind are allowed in this event. Rounds: The number of rounds depends on the number of participants for the event. 8 or Fewer (3-Round EvenT), 9 - 16 (4-Round Event) Timed Turns: 7 minute timed turns with a 5 minute extension once per game. Final Standings: 1st place to the last undefeated player. All other places will be determined using Strength of Schedule. Prizes: Store credit will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. All players that have a fully painted army and complete the event will be eligible for a prize roll at the end of the event.
