SpaceWeatherLive 1 min · The C6.2 solar flare yesterday at 15:52 UTC from region 2146 produced also a faint asymmetrical full halo CME that is coming towards Earth. Just like with the C2 flare, the bulk of the CME is heading west and away from Earth but there was again a faint and relatively slow halo outline visible. That means there are 2 CMEs on the Sun-Earth line at this time. NOAA has updated their ENLIL model to include at least 1 of the CMEs and is calling for an impact during the second half of August 26 but they might come with a new model run later today. More info regarding the C2 flare here: https://facebook/photo.php?v=615024038612109 We do not expect too much activity from these CMEs but they might arrive together with a coronal hole high speed stream and it is hard to predict what exactly can happen if these CMEs and the stream interact. Enhanced auroral activity will be possible on August 26/27. Follow it live on spaceweatherlive Video: C6 flare as seen by NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory (Little SDO), the two halo CMEs as seen by SOHO and the NOAA SWPC ENLIL solar wind model.
