Speakers Mistake To Avoid: No Action = No Results Quite often - TopicsExpress

Speakers Mistake To Avoid: No Action = No Results Quite often I’m questioned by ambitious speakers who have a great message, a defined and specific audience, a well crafted presentation and NO PLAN! A great intention on its own will not build a successful business. Intention requires attention! Now I know how many excuses there are for not building a plan for your speaking business, because I’ve either used them myself or I’ve heard them all! “I don’t need one”. “I don’t like that much structure”. “It will all work out as it should”. “I don’t have the time to sit down and write it out”. “I know it in my head”. “My business is too complex to simplify it into a plan”. “I’ll make it up as I go along”. Are any of these familiar to YOU? Let’s not make a huge production over this point other than to highlight that your plan only needs to be simple! Your speaking business plan will help you to create CLARITY and FOCUS which are two aspects that are often neglected as your business begins to expand. You will find the greater your profile becomes, the more challenged you will be to keep your message clean and your direction intact. You will find opportunities popping up which you never anticipated and you will most likely explore the viability of each. Having a plan allows you to very quickly assess opportunities against your ‘goals and objectives’ and to determine which opportunities will propel you forward and which will distract you sideways and delay the achievement of your goals. By ‘doing it’ and ‘reviewing it’ you are able to stay organised, measure your results, assess your options and make educated and informed decisions which will ensure your business growth. Not creating a plan will leave you feeling disorganised, disoriented, frustrated, confused and keep you feeling like an amateur. Worst case scenario, you will eventually find yourself out of business which means your message goes uncommunicated and your audience suffers as a consequence! Ask yourself: What business am I building? Why am I building this business? What are the results I am going to achieve? How will I measure these results? How will I obtain these results? When will I achieve these results? For more, join us at Speakers Fast Trak: carrensmith/live-events/speakers-fast-trak/
