Spending some time with our oldest daughter and her husband and family in Ilulissat Greenland. What an experience for this ol country fella. Had a chance so far to talk, or at least try to talk to some fellows. Had some coffee last evening with Arbaham Mathiasen. We had Reindeer, potatoes and vegetables and coffee and cookies. I havent had seal or whale yet. Arbham told Chris (our Son-in-law) that he knows a little English. Then he looked at me and said, I-love-you, I said Heyyyy as I made a fist and laughed at him. He got a big kick out of that. I didnt tell him, but I cant get my Baptist brethren to tell me that! I have met a few other fellows that couldnt be nicer to me. They want to take me fishing and seal hunting. The way it looks, I will be going out in that cold water sooner or later. It doesnt matter how late it is it doesnt get dark. One could easily work outside all night. In fact some of the fellows do fish all night I guess, or something because there are boats out there no matter when you look. Chris is doing a good job trying to tell these people that there is hope after the grave. It really makes me think about ALL the preachers sitting in churches all across America doing nothing while this country is void of any Gospel whats so ever. Chris is trying to translate the Bible into their language so they can hear and read about so great a Salvation. This is a barren land when it comes to the Gospel of the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Chris told me the word Calvary is not even in their vocabulary! Can you imagine not knowing a thing about Calvary? These people can be reached, but not by those who wont come. If we could only get some preachers discomforted enough to leave their soft church pews and not afraid to get away from home, this place could be reached. The JWs are here, why not the Baptists?
