Sperraz,New York City, New York,Contributor 11 reviews ,7 hotel reviews,Reviews in 8 cities “Location, Location!” 4 of 5 stars Review You simply cannot beat the location, especially if you want to catch a sunrise boat ride on the Ganges or evening ceremony on the ghats. The hotel is cute, with a nice courtyard and a good, reasonable rooftop restaurant overlooking the Ganges. The property felt like a secure oasis (they lock the front entrance after dark) and the staff was helpful. We spent two nights at Ganpati in one of the more expensive rooms with a balcony, which was very basic but clean. My only complaint is that our bathroom scared me a bit - there is no division between the toilet and shower (a curtain and some tiling would be nice!), leaving the entire bathroom soaked and gross. We had problems with electricity and the Internet, but it appeared to be citywide. Varanasi is my favorite city in India, but its incredibly crowded and difficult to navigate, so its totally work paying for the hotels pickup service, as its difficult to locate the hotel on your own. Overall, a great stay in a great city! Stayed March 2013, travelled with friends
