St Tims Look Book Took began this Sunday at our Parish worship, Celebration, diologue and discovery. The link will take you to the weekly guided Bible study. Here is this weeks LBT written and prepared by Anne Wilde Covenant Group leader On Board for the Journey LOOK In the children’s sermon this week, Karin reminded us that Sundays are different days from all the rest of the week. The Sabbath is a day to look up from our cell phones, our homework, our video games, and recognize God at work in our world. 1. How do your Sundays differ from all your other days? 2. What is your favorite part of the Sabbath? BOOK Luke 13:10-17 – Jesus heals on the Sabbath 1. Name some of the actions Jesus takes in this passage (look at the verbs). 2. What is the significance of straightening a woman with a crippling spirit? 3. Why is Jesus’ healing love met with criticism from the leader of the synagogue? 4. In pointing out the leader’s hypocrisy, what important lesson is Jesus teaching us? TOOK The gift of the Sabbath is the healing community we take part in each week. The rest of the week may cripple us but the Sabbath restores us and helps us stand up straight. We worship God, we renew our friendships, we lift our eyes to the wonders God has in store for us now and in the future. 1. Creating Sabbath at St Tim’s takes a lot of work – ushering, singing, teaching, etc. What role do you see yourself playing in St. Tim’s Sabbaths? 2. Sabbath healing should trickle into the rest of our lives. Who is in need of your healing touch or time this week? Pray about that. sttims.org/lbt/index.shtml
