Steve signing in at 8:08 AM. Partly cloudy skies across the counties this morning with temperatures in the mid to upper 50s, 63° at Hickory. Today will be partly sunny with southerly winds returning this afternoon, highs around 80°. Some isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible but the more intense activity will stay south of us in the SW mountains and the upper Savannah River valley. After some morning fog, well see partly cloudy skies on Monday, low 80s. More moisture return with southwesterly surface winds and a possible weak disturbance in the area will give us a better chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and one or two could be on the strong side. More of the same Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s, partly sunny through midday with scattered afternoon thunderstorms and one or two strong storms each day. A back-door front sags into the counties on Thursday, could bring us more widespread rain and thunderstorms, then we return to scattered afternoon storms Friday into the weekend. Temperatures a little cooler with cloud cover, ranging from 80° to 85°.
