Stoke Confirm Osaze Agreement -Seal Swap Deal With Kenwyne Jones In the wake of Sunday’s loss to Chelsea in the English FA Cup, Stoke City have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with EPL rivals, Cardiff City to have Peter Osaze Odemwingie join The Potters in a swap deal at the start of this week. In what promises to be one of the most dramatic deals involving a Nigerian player in England, Osaze is set to join Stoke in a swap deal for the club’s out of favour Trinidad and Tobago striker, Kenwyne Jones. Just like Jones, Osaze has found playing time distant and far between at Cardiff, which makes the deal suitable for both players and the switch is expected to be finalised once the 29-year-old attacker from Trinidad completes a medical at the Welsh club. Cardiff will be glad to welcome Jones in Osaze’s shoes, as the former West Bromwich Albion star has struggled at the EPL newcomers since joining them in the summer and is out of favour under The Bluebirds’ new boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The 32-year-old former Lokomotiv Moscow of Russia attacker, who has also played for AS Racines of Lagos, Insurance of Benin City, La Louviere of Belgium and Lille Metropole of France, is keen to revive his career at Stoke, who inherit his two-year contract with the Bluebirds. Stoke have confirmed that both clubs have reached an agreement on the deal, which Osaze knows he needs to improve any hope of him making Nigerias World Cup squad, as he has scored only two goals in 17 matches for Cardiff following his £2m switch from West Brom, which he joined for £2.5m in 2010. I making room for Osaze at Stoke, who once had fellow-Eagles star, Shola Ameobi on a short loan spell, Jones looks set to leave The Potters just a week after being dropped for the 1-0 defeat by Crystal Palace following his refusal to play against Liverpool six days before. The Trinidad and Tobago international first joined Stoke on loan from Southampton in 2005, then became their record signing in August 2010 from Sunderland for £8m and went on to score 26 goals in 115 appearances in his second spell with the club.
