Stonehenge More of my images taken during the recent winter solstice on Monday 22 December 2014 . These two uprights are stone numbers 21 and 22 and the smaller station stone number 93 can be seen in the distance looking west. In 1874 and 1877 Flinders Petrie surveyed Stonehenge in detail, and devised the numbering system for the stones that is still in use today.
