Stop the monopoly! Amazon is denying access to books unless it - TopicsExpress

Stop the monopoly! Amazon is denying access to books unless it gets special treatment. Its motto appears to be greed before reading. The giant of online retailing is pressuring Hachette, one of the major publishers, for more exorbitant terms—terms that discriminate against neighborhood bookshops, among other things, and put still more pressure on beleaguered authors. Please show your support for victimized writers by going to your local bookstore, Barnes & Noble, the iBook store, or any other outlet, and buy a book (or twelve) from one of the imprints listed in the link below, including Little, Brown; Grand Central; Hyperion; Orbit; and others.
