Subject: God uses us in our brokeness to heal the sick.Luke 10 the good samaritan The ways God speaks to us so often in our brokenness. You ask why in brokenness? For some because it is to finally allow him to shine his light in the dark places of our heart. It goes deeper than that. It causes us to reach to him in thought, in word by prayer and also in deed. When we have reached our lowest in the dark and we cannot see our hand in front of our face. We decide then to finally stop and cry out to him and fumble in the dark and reach for his hand. We beg and plead for his mercy, forgiveness of our wrongs and for him to fix us and the mess we have made in our lives. We cry out and ask God to make our lives pretty again. We say please Lord dress us up and make us smell new again. God say’s my child the way you perceive what is acceptable is a twisted view. You see you would never turn to me to seek me or know my truth without first letting go. For when you realize there is healing in your brokenness. There is completeness in your surrendering the things you grasp so tightly. You struggle through life not wanting to surrender your hopes, dreams, visions, joys beliefs. So many people in this world seeking me and never knowing I was simply with them every day. I am frightened by constant fears of of what if’s! What if I am not good enough, smart enough or just being misunderstood. My fears of not ever being truly known or that my life will never count or I will never matter to someone. Or I will never change a life for the good. God say’s you will do these things with my love. I say God I cannot love perfectly as you do. I know I will let that person down because I am broken like the man in Luke 10 who was robbed stripped and beaten. God say’s you see your neighbor everyday and you see they need prayer, they need safety. They need nurturing of mind, spirit and heart. I say Lord I am too broken to try to bring someone else to life. God say’s I’ll use you. I reply it is impossible. God ask “Do you think you can do this in your own strength”? I respond “No”. I admit to your Lord I am blind, starving, lost, angry, and bound with unforgiveness. God say’s I did ask you to stop living for someone else but while you are living show someone a smile today. They won’t see your pain but will see my kindness. I only asked you to take the change from your purse and hand it to the beggar. They will say God helped me today. I say Lord I say how do I preach the gospel to when I have not memorized the scriptures. God say’s the memorization is for you to be able to fight the lies within you with truth. They need only know I saw them today and met their need. I say but the Samaritan in Luke 10 stopped and put the man up in a hotel and bandaged his wounds. I ask you Lord how do I do that while I am bandaging my own? God asked me can you come to me for them and ask me for help for them. I reply yes Lord. God say’s then you are not ask broken as they are! You see I have taught you to pray! You can show them what they mean to me when you ask me to help them. This way you show them who they need and how to ask. God say’s I am in the details and I never asked you to fix them. I only asked you to love, support, and encourage them. I reply God I don’t have enough money for their need. God say’s you do for I can multiply it when I choose. I say Lord I am overwhelmed in life daily so how can I see to this person everyday when I struggle to care for myself? God say’s I’ll send helpers. There are others with my desire to assist you. God say’s I will direct you to them. I say Lord I do not have enough time to help. God replies just give I will do the rest and I will repay you when I return. Luke 10:36 which of these three do you think proved himself a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers? God say’s I never asked you to save the world. I did that already. I want you to show that Iam who I say I am. I say Lord I’ll fail you. They will see right through my bandages. God replies but they will see I bandaged you! God uses the broken to heal the sick! Did the priest and Levite truly hate or despise or fear the man they saw robbed and begging beside the road? No! They merely thought I am too broken so I cannot be used. It is a lie. What is truly feared in the human heart is to be seen in your brokenness! To be vulnerable. For others to know and you to know and admit you hurt, you make mistakes, you are selfish, judgmental. I ask God how can you use me? God say’s surrender your heart to me and ask me to teach you my will, confess you are clueless then began to tell others that I can bandage their wounds too. Begin to walk humbly with me. God say’s you say you see crazy people every day. God say’s no they are broken like you! Go back and remember when someone bound your wounds for my sake and then go and do likewise.
