Sue Crotts Duke Energy, the utility Governor McCrory worked for - TopicsExpress

Sue Crotts Duke Energy, the utility Governor McCrory worked for for almost 30 years, helped finance the governors campaign. This year, the governor twice failed to disclose his financial interests in Duke Energy to the state Ethics Board and blamed his failure on an attorney. Now Duke Energy is involved in letting contracts to build the Atlantic Coast Pipeline through 4 states including NC. Duke Energy is slated to be the recipient of 50% of the pipelines gas to supply power. The pipeline is also a necessity to get fracked gas from western NC moved to paying resources. Lets not be fooled here. A handful of elites in the shale industry and politics stand to benefit immensely while they introduce a scale of industrialization that will pollute our land and water and take away landowners property rights. All this for a short term supply. Other states are suffering from Fracking for natural gas. We need to repeal SB 786 and reinstate the Fracking ban. If renewable solar and wind were subsidized by the federal government like shale, we would be facing clean renewable energy instead of environmental disaster.
