Sunday time for church. Sin and its counterpart forgiveness are powerful forces. Sin tears down, cast aspersions , lays wake to rumor, plants seeds of fear. Anxiety, anger and things far worse. Yet in our lives we want to embrace these things. In some cases we nurture these things and many times to our detriment, but its familiar and we constantly worry over the what if question. Forgiveness on the other hand can bring things like reconciliation, a fresh start, understanding, new hope, a right balance to life. Yet the fear of rejection, the fear of failure and the what if question looms so strong in our lives we wont reach for it. But by the simple act of doing so we can alleviate all of it, yet we dont. Paul said this in Romans talking about the things I want to do I dont, the things I dont want to do I do and in Romans 7:24 he said Oh wretched man that I am who will deliver me from this body of death? Good question fortunately there is a good answer. Jesus is the one who can by being fully God and fully man break down this wall between forgiveness and sin. We like Paul can wrestle until we are blue in the face, but ultimately we come to the same place. Who will deliver us from this body of sin and death. Know that it is Jesus Christ fully God, fully man and his life death and resurrection that is our ticket to forgiveness and life. Something to think about for your Sunday.
