Sunday we worshiped alongside the congregation at Bread of Life - TopicsExpress

Sunday we worshiped alongside the congregation at Bread of Life Church. The church is located at the school in Denpasar. The sermon was given by Pastor Li, who was visiting from South Korea. Luckily, he was kind enough to speak in English, and his message was translated into Indonesian for everyone else. Even some of the songs were deliberately chosen, as they could be sung in both English and Indonesian to the same tune. We were privileged to sing two songs in the service, ‘They’ll Know We Are Christians’ and ‘This I Believe (The Creed)’; and three of the local children presented their own interpretation of ‘the cup song’, with lyrics from ‘Hallelujah Praise the Lord’. Sian and Beth had been playing the cup song with the kids earlier in the week, so their item was really special. After church, the team received some more yummy Indonesian snacks and water… a bit different to Hope Valley’s usual coffee time. In the afternoon we headed around to the beach markets at Sanur for some shopping, and massages on the beach. Ketut drove us around to his younger sister Wayan’s shop, which had some really lovely things. Mrs Ketut and their children, Putu and Kedek, came to the shop to say hello to the team… and to bring more delicious food for us to sample. Her cooking is amazing! The snacks from the church and Ketut were part of our Australian birthday celebration for Ketut, on our hotel roof. We also had the privilege as a team for praying with Ketut, thanking God for him.
