Sundays Trail Run#1 Hi guys, a few details for Sundays Trail Run#1 Please can we meet at 08:15am at the Upper Lodges Car Park, Stanmer Park, off Ditchling Road, 400metres east of Coldean Lane/Ditchling Road intersection. Remember the clocks go back 1 hour on Saturday night. Carl, ( blue top cyclist in the photograph) who lives in the forest, has helped to map Trail Run #1, a hilly off reader, Ive designed it with a nice downhill warm up to start the course. A few stats :- Distance 5.94 miles = 9.50 K Ascent 206 metres Terrain 95% off road, please wear trail shoes if you have them, good grip is important for the muddy climbs. The Course - please dont be bogged down worrying about the route, Sundays run is an orientation, as will each of the initial 4 trails, then its full speed ahead ! If youre not running at the moment, through injury, or otherwise, I would highly recommend you to mountain bike the course, this will give you 1 hour of fresh air, improve your knowledge of Trail Run #1, and improve your fitness :-) Sundays run will be an orientation run, as its the first time we are running this Trail, we can try to run as a group to learn the course, its not difficult, so the next time we run this ( 4 weeks time) Im expecting 100% PBs ! Bring a plastic bag to put dirty kit in after your run, and hoodie/joggers to wear to keep warm after you cross the finish line. Im recording ALL RUN TIMES for the Winter Trail Running Series, (also for the Off-Road Duathlon Series) to monitor improvement or slacking off, both of which will be rewarded appropriately at the April Awards Afternoon :-) See everyone at 08:15, for a warm up, and a run :-) Sea swim tonight ( Thursday 24th) back of king Alfred 5:30pm, hopefully the onshore winds will pick up and give us some big waves to deal with :-) Best, as always Kurt
