Sweet Corn Bread Recipe Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup cornmeal 1/4 cup white sugar 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 egg, lightly beaten 1 cup sour cream 1/3 cup milk 1/4 cup butter, melted Directions 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking dish, OR, lightly grease and preheat a cast iron frying pan in the oven before pouring your mixture into it. 2. Combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Mix egg, sour cream, milk, and butter in a small bowl. Fold egg mixture into flour mixture until just moistened; pour into prepared baking dish. 3. Bake in preheated oven until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes. Serve warm. Any leftovers can be reheated in a microwave if you like it warm. NOTE: By preheating your cast iron frying pan to the temp in the oven will sear the outer edges of the corn bread and should make it a bit more moist after baking....
