Sweetwater Community Church in Bonita would like to thank The Super Dentists for helping us achieve a big goal this year to pack 300 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child! Operation Christmas child is a program that allows individuals to personally pack a shoebox full of practical and fun items for impoverished children all over the world. Suggested items for the shoeboxes include hygiene items like a toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brushes, as well as toys, coloring books, and school supplies. To help with Sweetwater Community Church’s efforts, The Super Dentists have graciously donated toothbrushes to be included in these boxes! For many children across the world, these boxes provide the only access they have to oral hygiene items. Dental health is a serious issue in developing countries. Anyone who has ever had a toothache will understand how much a bad tooth can affect your quality of life! In our society it is almost impossible to imagine being so poor that you cannot afford to provide a toothbrush for your child. For the areas that Operation Christmas Child serves, this program is not just about giving the kids a present to make them happy. It’s about health. It’s about education. It’s about showing them they matter and that someone cares about them. Samaritan’s Purse has delivered over 100 MILLION of these boxes to over 130 countries all over the world since 1993! This year they expect to collect approximately 10 million boxes to deliver to children across the globe! Thank you, Super Dentists, for helping promote health and compassion this holiday season!
