Swim Chronicles: Still mermaid in training. Arrived at the pool at 5:45 to meet my Lil Sis Natasha. Shed already done a million laps. Jumped in the cold azz water (why is the outdoor pool warmer than indoors....BS). Got right into my drills. Hips up, kick at the hips, slight bend in the knees. No runner ankles today. Need to make them flexy loopy. Doing pretty good. Okay...now lets throw some arm work in there. Practicing that 1 arm stroke the other Swim Whisperer Ovetta mentioned for beginners. After a few corrections by Sis, Im on my way. Stroke one, over under...push the water...move get out my way water. Wow..that one stroke pushed me pretty far. Stroke 2, Ive made it mid pool. Okay this is pretty cool. Once the breathing gets in tune...this will be awesome. I continue to practice by myself and I guess I got more comfortable. Last time out, I ended up past the black line that marks much deeper water. 3 strokes to get to that point. Panic and then breathe. Im not Robin Thicke and dont like those blurred lines. Once fatigue set in and the man doing sychronized swimming drills joined the pool...time to go. One lady...I call her Fins...asked if I were just learning. I said yes...learning again. She said wow...good job. You look like you can get the other end. Another regular who does therapeutic swimming told me Im looking good and great job. Great improvement. Ill take that. Now if these Michael Phelps long azz arms of mine syncs with my body and my breathing acts right...Ill be good. Would love to swim like everyone else. In due time.
