I expected a youngster like him to cavourt with the most rambauctious pooches and have fun, fun, fun...Tires was on the contrary very calm, avoiding the pushy dogs and doing his own things around the calm ones. He was much more interested in the humans present in the pen, soliciting attention and hovering around them. This is no surprise...Puppy Tires seems to have hard a rough early start to lifee. He is very thin. His coat and skin were infested by fleas that we disposed of... Tires is craving for treats, that he snatches ravenously from my hand, even jumping for them...He searches every nooks and cranny for scraps of food. Surprisingly, he will sit on command for a reward. Tires is not wary of dogs and humans alike. He seems to have been around both kinds....His instincts tell him that we are eventually a source of good, even if he has met mostly indifference. Tires leans on my chest, my lap...Look at me, feed me, talk to me...I need you. He does not know and of course, does not add:I know you need me too. Tires must learn this last line.... He needs a real family who will put back in places things were they belong. A dog is a pet to cherish, respect and care for with so many gains to expect in return.... inconditional love, joy, fun and companionship.
