TBT: Alice was a client of mine for 20 years who lost her husband & had no children. We had her over to our home to share Christmas & Thanksgiving with us a few times. When she started to have issues & was moved to a facility, I would visit her in the semi-acute ward & sometimes help with activities. Here we are making Easter bonnets out of paper plates & fake flowers. She was moved to a facility in Va to be near distant relatives, very nice ppl. Alice had been in the hospital multiple times on deaths door & always beat it & came back home, so when they called me to say she was going soon I was skeptical. Just the same, I took the 7 hour drive down to see her the day after Christmas 2011. She really didnt recognize me but I sat in a chair next to her bed & we chatted all day, at one point we both dozed off, then woke up & chatted some more. Here she is that day looking at a framed picture of her husband who had died 10 years earlier. I drove back home & Alice died 2 days later at 102 yrs old. RIP Alice :)
